Donation of COVID-19 Relief Equipments

As part of our social responsibility initiatives, Safi Renewable Energy Limited in conjunction with its financial partner, Climate Fund Managers (CFM) made a considerable donation of critical medical equipment to the Akwa Ibom Government under the COVID-19 relief programme. The equipment was for the Covid Centre in Methodist General Hospital and Isolation Centre, Ituk Mbang as well as the Covid Centre, Ibom Multi-Specialists Hospital, Uyo.
The sum of NGN123.4 million was secured through the Akwa Ibom State Government’s collaboration with Climate Investor One and Climate Investor Two financing facilities and Safi Renewable Energy Limited. Precedence was given to the procurement of critical care equipment such as Ventilators, Oxygen Concentrators, and diagnostic equipment such as Hematocrit Centrifuges, Arterial Blood Gas Analysers and Digital Mobile X-ray Machines. In addition, PPE and Infant Incubators and Phototherapy units were also supplied.
The handover ceremony held on Friday, 2nd July 2021 at the Methodist General Hospital/Isolation Centre, Ituk Mbang. In attendance at the event was the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem; the Commissioner of Health, Professor Augustine Umoh; Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr Patrick Essiet; Chairman, Hospital Management Board, Dr. David Udoumoh; and the CEO, Safi Renewable Energy Limited, Mr Yinka Ogundare.
To ensure sustainability, DPL Construction Limited was commissioned as a consultant to provide technical support and project management for the donated equipment for a 12-month period.
